How to Turn a Product Page Into a 60-Second UGC Script
October 21, 2026 7 min read
Most creators stare at a blank doc when they should be staring at the product page. The title, reviews, and FAQ already tell you what buyers care about, what scared them, and what finally made them click buy. Here's the mining process.
Step 1: Mine the reviews for pain
Sort reviews by most helpful and read the 3- and 4-star ones first — they describe the problem in the customer's own words without marketing polish. Collect the five frustrations that repeat. Those are your script's emotional backbone.
Step 2: Steal the language, not the claims
When a reviewer writes "I finally stopped dreading long drives," that phrase outperforms anything a copywriter invents. Build a swipe file of verbatim customer phrases and weave them into the narration.
Step 3: Structure the 60 seconds
A proven timestamped skeleton: 0–3s hook, 3–10s problem agitation, 10–20s discovery moment, 20–40s three benefit beats with b-roll, 40–52s objection handling and social proof, 52–60s call to action. Every second earns the next.
Step 4: Map b-roll to every line
A script without shot direction is a podcast. For each line, specify the visual: hands unboxing, the product in use, a reaction shot, a text overlay of the key stat. Creators film faster and editors cut faster when the shot list is baked in.
Step 5: Answer the top objection before they ask
Every product has one killer doubt — price, durability, "does it actually work." Address it head-on around the 40-second mark with proof, not reassurance.
